I AM FROM FEATHERSTON

Designing living spaces –
a passion

I'm Rob Camden, an Architectural Designer and Director of Maunga Designs based in Cambridge

I have a passion for the outdoors – from Mountains to Sea. I've spent time mountaineering in NZ and South America, scuba diving and instructing in NZ, Australia, Mozambique, Thailand and Myanmar. This passion for the outdoors and the immense pleasure and good vibes experienced in nature have motivated me to incorporate good design within the immediate environment and bring those same feelings inside.

Architectural design in the Waikato

Originally from the Wairarapa, I've spent a sizeable chunk of my time overseas and in the South Island. Relocating to Waikato in 2015, I retrained in the Architectural field, qualifying with a National Diploma in Architectural Technology.

I was proudly awarded the Gordon Hassett Award – Top Student Year 1 Built Environment and the Chow Hill Award – Top Graduating Student. I am a Licensed Building Practitioner – Design (Registered with MBIE), and a professional member of the Architectural Designers New Zealand (ADNZ) currently the ADNZ Regional Executive Secretary 2022-24

As of the start of 2024 you won't find me in my Cambridge Architectural office on Thursday's, as I'm undertaking additional tertiary papers in Auckland. Upskilling and professional development to ensure I offer the best service

Supporting local

We like to support locally owner-operated Cambridge or wider Waikato trades and suppliers, including interior design, retail, and contractors. By using local businesses and sourcing materials locally (where possible), we aim to help reduce costs for our clients and support the local economy.
